Shanghai

Today, we arrived in the extravagant city of Shanghai. Once we got there, we met our new tour guide, Simon. He moved to Shanghai ten years ago. He is really young and extremely funny. Instead of hearing the history of China, he explained to us the common life of a person living in Shanghai. He said that women have higher status here and that Shanghai is the fashion capital of China. Then we visited the Bund. The word means “dirty” in Indian Anglo Saxon. There were lots of beautiful and unique buildings in Shanghai. After we visited the Bund, we went to our hotel. In our opinion, it is the nicest hotel we have been in. It has an amazing view and a huge bathroom. Most of us stayed in the hotel and watched the television until it was time for dinner. We went to eat Chinese food and there were French fries again. We went into a silk gallery after we finished eating. The art works on the wall took large amounts of time to make. It was really expensive, prices ranging from $2000 to $10,000 each. When we got back to the hotel, some of us went to the gym, while others went to the pool. We were trying to lose the weight that we gained throughout this week in China. Now, it is time to shower and go to bed. Goodnight everyone!
